About Sandy

I took night classes at Ralston School of Massage in 2008 for two years while working full time as an Administrative Assisant during the day. My evenings Monday thru Friday and most of the day on Saturdays were dedicated to learning the art of Massage Therapy until I graduated in June of 2010 with over 300 hours of the required hours to graduate from massage school. My family was very supportive during this time as I had a husband and an eight year old child at home. The happiest day of my life was passing the National Exam in which I cried when I saw the word, “Pass”! I did not want to pay another $275 to re-take the exam, so my hard work, and studying every day, paid off.
While I was in school I participated in several sports events around Reno and the Lake Tahoe area providing sports massage to athletes and also worked on the UNR women’s swim team. My favorite part of school was working with Bob Oliver on athletes during Wednesday nights where I learned so many cool techniques and had instant gratification from the clients as I’d go home on cloud nine ever Wednesday.
I’ve since done some outcall massage and currently work a few nights during a week providing massage on the casino floor and in bars to patrons who visit the Silver Legacy Casino Resort in Reno while I am slowly building my practice. I donated an evening to work on dancers Alvin Ailey II to provide massage before, after and during one of their shows in Reno and plan to donate more time at various events.
I still hold my full time Administrative Assistant job at the University of Nevada Reno, but plan to eventually dedicate my life to the healing art of massage full time.
I enjoy doing chair massage because it is an easy way to introduce people to massage without having them remove any clothing.
My favorite thing about massage is the satisfaction I receive from the client. The gratification from the client is something that makes it all worthwhile especially when the client tells me that I have “magic hands” and that they never received relief from pain, not even from medication or surgery like they had after their massage.
I have used lymph drainage to assist in the swelling of tissue and saw wonderful results. TPT (Trigger Point Therapy), hot stones, deep tissue and swedish are among some of my other favorite types of massage. I look forward to learning more techniques each year and helping more and more people. One of the things I’d like to learn more about is pregnancy and infant massage, sports massage and also Reiki Healing.
I would love to teach classes on massage someday in the future so that I can spread the word and help others learn about the wonderful world of massage. I sometimes incorporate essential oils in my massage but mostly enjoy the hot stones, hot towels and whatever the client is looking for. You can count on me to listen to my client and not be the chatty box that some clients complain about.
I have three boys, one at home, and have lived in the Reno area all of my life.
I hope to get a chance to work on you and provide pain releif or even just some relaxation in your life.
Please let me know what your goals are in getting out of your massage and if you don’t have 30, 60 or 90 minutes just stop by to see me for a 15 minute chair massage or try out my 10 minute “Hands” or “Just Feet” massage! I also offer an amazing 15 minute upper body, shoulders and neck massage!
I hope to meet you soon!
Sandy Cuzick
